Sammy Buazza | Club Director

Coach Sammy was born in Worcester, Massachusetts and raised in Houston, Tx. He is a graduate of Mayde Creek High School and Cetenary College where he played Division 1 NCAA soccer. He began playing soccer at the age of 3 and has played competitively for over 20 years—playing Division 1 club here in Houston, collegiately in Louisiana, and professionally over seas. After playing professionally, Coach Sammy realized his passion in coaching youth soccer. He began his coaching career back in 2010 and has been coaching ever since. Since then, he has become the Owner and Director of Aspire Soccer Club, based in Spring, Tx, where he enjoys developing young players of all ages. There, his oldest girls’ group won First Place in State, two years back-to-back, and he currently has the #1 ranked U12 boys team in South Texas. Coach Sammy began Coaching at Northland Christian in 2019, and in his first year, led the boy’s soccer team to a district championship title. Coach Sammy and his wife, Sarah, have been married since 2015, and have two young daughters, Layla and Leena.

Gio Guzman | Director of Youth Development

Gio grew up in Houston, TX and played with various soccer clubs including the Texas Rush Development Academy (DA). After finishing his youth career and playing in the DA, Gio graduated from The University of Houston with a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering Technology and a minor in Drilling Technology in the Spring of 2015. He has been coaching girls and boys in our area since 2012. He believes that player development is paramount and looks to install environments where players can develop not just technically, but cognitively through various coaching methods. He currently holds a USSF D license and is waiting to apply for the USSF C license.

Matt Walker | Club Director

Lives in the Cypress/Tomball area. Over 20+years of experience involved in sports as a player and coach. Played club soccer for the Texans as a youth player, was a three year varsity athlete, a 2 year varsity captain point guard on high nationally ranked high school basketball team. Holds a Bachelor of Architecture from the University of Houston. Has been coaching youth recreation soccer since 2011 and club soccer since 2017. Part of the FC Cypress training staff, is TOVO certified, is a level 1 technical trainer for the Training Grounds, as well as being the Training Grounds ball mastery/skills trainer. Coach Matt and his wife, Margarita, have been married since 2008, and have two daughters, Isabella and Mia.
